Leaving The Past: To Become The Future

Sometimes, the dark
Is the reason for the light
The pain of loneliness
Gives way to the peace
Of finding another heart
In the day to day
We move through time
Hoping for the high road
A chance to live better
Want better
Even when you live alone
In the moment
The hope is there
For a chance at more
Better
After giving everything you can
The hope is still there
A chance for understanding
A chance for love
To get moments
I suffered for
Yearned for
A lifetime of living for another
Living as someone else
Never for myself
Just me
Change meant letting go
Of the pain
Of the past
Change meant walking away
From who I was
To finally become
Who I want to be
To finally become
Me

The Tundra of the Lonely Soul

I stand in the empty stillness
Alone… yet cold
The promise of the light is there
If temporarily
A promise
Of warmth, of Love , of life
Amongst the silence
Loneliness
A glimmer of hope
Redemption
Though it’s the in-between times
That tortures the soul
In whispers of diabolical words
Deeds
Anguish is conveyed
The mind is a most evil jailer
Punishing my promise
Damning my thoughts
Of what could be
A touch , a caress, a kiss
Of him
Woe my busy mind
My active imagination
My sundered heart
My soul cast to shadows
The shadows of uncertainty
It’s not knowing that is the tormentor
As I dwell there waiting,
Tic… tic…. tic
Alone with the hellscape
Of my bitter worries
As time stretches forward
I’m left to wonder
Is it my foolish pride, my stupid assumptions
Or is it I who is the ultimate fool
As I stand here in the nether gloom
Of my solitary countenance
Contemplating my own mortality
My own insolence
Believing the blessing of peace
Of love
Dwelling here alone
Hoping
Needing
In those empty moments
I dream of her
Only to have my salvation shattered
By the memory of her words
The coldness without her kiss
Those times feel like death
No peace to the heart without love
I see life , but with here
Every activity was just a day you died just a little
A life devoid of love is no life at all.

A Lifetime In Moments

A Lifetime in Moments

You see, life doesn’t happen in years or decades or centuries.   We live in moments…

We don’t live on an arrow of time from the past to the present to the future.  The past is gone, and the future hasn’t occurred.

We simply live in the NOW.  Our lives are nothing but a series of moments.

This is why the moments we have together are so precious, so unique, because it’s all we have together a series of moments in the NOW.

Each moment is our only chance to experience each other, love each other… and when they pass.. we can never get them back again.

They are forever gone.

In The Image Of An Angel

Each day, a gulf between us
A chasm of unimaginable emptiness
As I shamble along this mortal coil
An eternity of moments slowly marches forward
Silence, utter silence, my torturer
As I wait, for a moment of solace, an instant of respite
A word of peace
In darkness, waiting, needing you to free my cold bitter heart
With the brilliance of your caring
I am buoyed by the sure knowledge
Your presence uplifts my continence
Saves my soul
Time, the vile mistress
Tick, tick, tick
Punishes me for my arrogance
To dare love such a being of light
The intimate need consumes my fevered consciousness
Your thoughts uplift my dark awareness
Your image heals my battered ego
Your smile resuscitates my soul
Each moment apart is an eternity
A singular hell , lost in pain
Only to experience the nirvana of heaven
Each time we reunite
Each word, each feeling,
Each time we meet again
Brings me to…
Life

Dying Of The Light: Rage Against The Enemy Of Discontent

Made hard by life, by lack
Left alone to endure the cold places
Empty times when I trekked the storm blown plains
Plains of my own lost journey
When I was banished from my own existence
My own life
My own family
I, a stranger in familiarity
Known as the villain in my own saga
Challenged fate cursed the moment
Raised my fist to the sky
In the darkest of days , fear an enemy yet one the I dominated
As I stared down the hated gaze of my detractors
Shouted (Never!) To those wanton haters
That demanded submission, compliance
If I took a knee , it was in prayer
A prayer of strength
Of victory over the conquistadors of my belligerent adversaries
I will not go quietly
Surrendering to those who seek to author my fate, design my demise
I move forward against the bitter deluge
The violent winds
The angry sky
The storm is coming, the die is cast
War against the anarchist of my discontent inevitable
I stare into the tempest
My gaze locked on the future
As others falter in the progression of their moral intent
With my head up… my motivation, a righteous certainty
Endurance a surety
Embolden by my conviction
I Rise

Solitary Trek: Life Lost In Translation

Life the solitary trek
Alone in the cacophony of things, people
Searching for solace, for reason
For purpose in the meanless cavalcade of experience
An abstract journey to empty dreams
Hopeless revelry with lost expectation
Questioning rational logic as the cycle continues
The pain becomes reason
As bitter souls pursue feeling… some feeling
Amour , enmity any feeling and failing
Indifference inundates the jaded heart
Withers the optimistic perspective
Leaving husks of people that aren’t living
Aren’t savoring moments of memory
That in youth beheld wonder in each encounter, in each breath
Now , the barren mindscape a monotonous  repetitive grind
As one day replays
Again and
Again and
Again.

Echos Of Eden: In The Spaces In-between

Echos of eden
In the garden of discontent
Lost innocence in the electronic spaces
Alone in the spaces between electrons and life
As the transients of the new age suffer unrequited love
Wandering aimlessly, the web of uncertainty
Seeking, searching their golden moments
Instants of connection, moments of solace
Connections of mental communion
Or physical ardor
Alone in the crowd, a soul among many
Wanting, needing …. something
A patriarchal reminisce
A matriarchal memory
Healing that empty cold experience
Or to forget the treasonous moment
And the fact they were abandoned by life
Separated by distances by languages by blood
Realizations become evidence
Evidence becomes clearity
The world is simply a grand illusion
The actual truth is it isn’t really here
At all.

Lux… Redux

Slipstream shadows
Wraith the passing mist
Lost in the empty nothingness
Of the odd

Moments pass in the brutal silence
Of forgotten lonely places
Peace sundered by an instant of
Truth… it all can pass

Blink from existence
Flash of clarity we are all temporary
Moments to come
Moments to go

Shadows really
Here then gone
Nothing left but an empty space
Where something had been

An hour a day
Lost in the past
Existing in the now
Eclipsed in tomorrow

Mere ashes, remnants
Creatures of the luminescent
Denizens of the mist
Energy passing to everlasting

As our forms fade
Taken by the forward fate
We leave this time… this space
The dust of its place

And move
On

The Wicked Game

Sundered heart, the dreams yet dreamt
A future in the foggy twilight of days yet spent
A purpose undefined, with love not yet given
In moments of passion of a night’s unspent

Will it be her, or will she not be
I question the choices presented before me
Love peace or wealth yet gained
As I am left to dwell and contemplate

Youth, beauty, a passion unwrought
Loyalty, promise, and the prizes I’ve sought
A lifetime leads to this point.. this path
The way is shrouded, so many desires to sate

In the stillness of my own troubled mind
I wonder the irony of the fated design
After a lifetime of silence, suddenly granted a muse
Given a gift, a blessing to live life anew

Choices to make, pathways to choose
So much to gain, so much to lose
Am I wicked for wanting it all?
After so much emptiness, can I breach the wall

To my own heaven, eden unbound
To my personal salvation,
Released by the unforgiving fate
My soul had been bound.

Beauty of the spirit
Beauty of the soul
A Beauty yet experienced
A Beauty to behold

Moments in peace
In love in light
Choices unchosen
Wonders of forbidden nights

I stand in the quiet times
Contemplating times yet to come
Lives yet experienced
Love yet to be won

Path To Forever

Triple heart the wonder felt
Love actual , all at once
Alone , but not lonely
They kept on coming

Day and night, I was by myself
Yet they wanted me , stalked my
Electronic soul
They came , though I didn’t even know
Their names in the beginning

I met the first, just words on a screen
I fell in love with my imagination
And , an old phorograph
Though we had never met or talked directly

She told me she wanted me but craved
A daddy, lost in her past
Another , who needed a new life, a chance
To forget .. her past , her pain

A soul who was on fire faced the world
She was strong, but alone in herself
A woman who was chased by death
Yet, craved life

So many reasons, so many chances
So many dreams undrempt
Lifetimes of unfulfilled aspirations
Regrets and pain no joy had

Lost denizens of choices made wrong
Travelers searching for redemption
Hoping for renewal, seeking the elusive
Heart and ultimate love

From emptiness to abundance from anguish
To peace, they all come seeking forgiveness
For actions, they had no answer to
And reasons that could not be understood or
Undone

Time marched on , leaving my soul longing
For reconciliation, for desire , for them all
In silent tones, pondered , my weary mind
As each a fallen angel, yet a path of promise
As they grasp for their salvation in my eyes

Made anew in my arms, given solace in my
Touch
All needed peace in a warm embrace
All needed the security of a sure commitment
As they reach for my spirit, promising light

Promising physicality, promising sincerity
Of a loyal partner and a sure friend
As they fought, the rising flood of uncertainty
To gain the one prize , that was the greatest gift that had eluded them all
Home
