The Truth And The Darkness

Have you ever thought about
all that you have learned?
Where you have gone
Where you have come

Did you realize the truth
Have you learned it yet?
In the last moment will
you admit the waste?
Will it be your final  error?

Nothing you got from school
Nothing heard on TV or radio
mattered..
You have a daily chance
To think outside this box

Or you can wait for the culling
Like all the rest, lost in the delusion
You exist, but just barely, a ghost that
Will fade in fifty or a hundred years

You will be gone, like you never were
A path of nothingness, lost in the abyss
A slave to the lie, a shadow in the end
When, the earth takes you back, recycled

That is the path of the slave without chains
Their lies blinded you, their paper controlled
you,
The system, owned you with empty promises,
And, emptier dreams

Either open your eyes, and see the truth
Or, follow the brainwashed masses
Controlled by the lie, stay in line
With the falsehood being the real chains
That bound you.

The Hero’s Path

The light is the guiding force
Even in the darkness
You can feel it there
Just on the horizon
Though you may be forced
to your knees
Be sure that the light
Will come
Sword in hand
As the first beams hit
Your eyes
You Rise.

What The Fate’s May Ordain

Rain..funny how it always seems to punctuate
My pain..a nightmare that oversees my life’s deconstruction

My home…gone
My love…ripped away
The bleakness palatable as I watched  it crumble, and fall away

Day to day…moment to moment
I keep moving.. the rain, a constant enemy
taunting me, a tyrant, a bully
Forcing me to live in this constant moment

It made me look at my life…and all my weaknesses…I continue to push back
Against my failures, I make the fates see
me, all of my conflicts, my victories with
the losses
I am told over and over, there is no way to stop it…change it, I am broken…
Echos, in my head…darkness, I was told to fear

I stood before the monster of my future.. and shouted “Never!!!”
I stood there in the cold rain.. and defied the evil that confronted me..
And…I kept moving forward

You know…the worst that could happen is it kills this physical construct…
But, it can never take the true me..the soul that dwells within..

The clouds gathered darker, as the cold steel rain continued…

I pulled my resolve around me like unseen armor… And
With conviction, courage and all the strength I could summon…
I stared into the tempest…
As I stepped forward.

Just Have To Let Go Sometimes

I left my pain on the side of a dusty road
As I walked on a highway… carrying my
Life on my back , some dirty clothes and old memories scatter in amongst the few possessions.

As I walked, I shed all I thought I held dear
A piece at a time, the snow began to fall as the sun set on the path I choose.
Was it all a facade?  Did I live a lie?  Or maybe I just fooled myself, into believing I belonged.

Sometimes, you have to let go, and take another path, leaving the memories scattered
on the floor for someone else to remember.

As I walked , my feet got wet in my boots, my eyes got wet too taking a last look at my lies, things I made my heart hold till it finally banished the past a thought at a time.

Ahead of me lay uncertainty, a blank slated
The fates rolled their dice, regardless what
comes, I would rather face that,  and face a thousand new situations being truthful with myself than living a fool’s life in control of nothing.

A cold wind blew as stuck my thumb out as a car slowed, just ahead stopping to offer me a ride , I smiled as I ran toward a new adventure, and a new life.
The snow continued.

Lost In The Moment

Like a word cursed in anger
My life was ripped away…
Like a jilted lover.. I was thrust
Into the street..uncertain of tomorrow
Today, is already happening
Nothing certain, my love torn from me
And.. there I stood.. for the first time in a while
A transient, in my own skin…
Punctuated, with a cold rain..
I was sure that, my future is being written
The endgame now stood in stark relief
Of a otherwise predictable existence
Each day, each moment..unknown..
I conducted each moment.. from that point
A step at a time, a blind man..in a mine field
Each step, a small victory.. or a mind blowing defeat..
Lost in that moment..all others unimportant
If I survive that next step..it is a unbelievable victory..
All the time aware..
I am standing on a knives edge
Failure could be just a step away
All I have left for certain is..
This moment..

Homeless, But Not Forgotten

It’s cold at night, shelter is scarce
I feel like nothing..standing here
I ask for food, and am told get a job
I had one, until I got hurt
Embarrassed by my humanity
Dirty cloths , yet my heart is pure
Despite in demeanor, I try to find
my place
Still whole, I’m not broken
Yet, I worry for the others in my care
I am not invisible, a statistic or
useless
I know the feeling of being homeless
States make the homeless a criminal
A animal to be chipped
Or make them disappear entirely
I am a man of honor
Who served my country
Who loves my nation and it’s people
Even though I am reduced to asking
for help
I am no burden, no nuance to be disposed of
I am a warrior, a father, a son, a husband
a lover, and loved
But most of all I am
a Man

Lost

Painted Graffiti on histories page
The statues have been pull down
As smoke of Insurrection, black as night
reaches the sky
A constant droning over loud speakers slogans
and vitriolic words echo through the city’s canyons
More pain, death for a lie..
The past on display in flags and banners
A failed idea, brought to life
No protection, as the demons break windows
And, beat car drivers that dared to drive onto
their roadway
Loot stores in the name justice
Kill in the name of peace
Accusation of the innocent
Silence opposition
Wear a mask to avoid the condemnation
of their actions
Hate is evident
The people faced the evil their
leader’s embraced
Life or death a moment away
A tear fell to ground
A great Republic’s existence
Stands in the balance
Succeed, their children will know liberty
Fail, their generations are
Lost

Echos Of The Dead

Broken now the great city
Like Rome, and Babylon
Who came before it
Stone upon stone
Brick upon brick

The bulwark
Set ablaze by the
Barbarians
The Anarchist
Whose mission was
To destroy

The bloodied bodies
Lay in the streets
Their cars, burnt
Their property
Gone

Lies, their truth
Fear a commodity
They dealt in..
Hoping none would
Challenge
Them

Black cloth,
With blacker hearts
Mercenaries, paid
For destruction

No more freedom
No more History
Takedown the past
To force a totalitarian
Future

A once great idea
A dream for mankind
To build their own destiny
Ripped Asunder
By evil

The Barbarians are not
At the gates any longer
No, they have entered
The city..

They are now burning
The dreams of many
As the smoke ascends
So too their futures
Lost

And, if not stopped
It’s our generations
Who will suffer
For our inability
To stop this destruction

We were as guilty
As those who perpetrated
This Chaos, because we
Stood by and didn’t act
The fires died out

As the wind blew away
The remnants of our
Civilization
It also blew away our
Future with it

May God have mercy
On our seed in perpetuity
That though we failed
May they succeed.

None Dare Call It Evil

I scream to the heavens…
The fires begin…
Another dead man…
On the ground…
Bleeding out…

They loot the local stores…
All the glass breaking out…
What’s it all for?…
What’s it all for?…

A cop gets hit..
Caught on fire…
Hear him burning…
As they take the street…

Exclusion zones…
More people get hurt…
It’s for a good cause they say…
We are the good guys they say…

Antifa, kills, Antifa burns…
They claim to be good…
As they kill another guy…
For what? For What?…

A man named Floyd?…
The cities in chaos…
It’s for a good cause…
Call them fascist they say…

Then we see more hurt…
More dead…
They justify their violence…
Is it a protest or a revolt…

They follow the evil…
That came before them…
No desent allowed…
And..no free speech either…

An Insurrection, called a riot…
What rights, none left…
As I scream to the heavens…
No ones left to hear…
My call…

The fires burn out..
The bodies litter the street…
Echos of my cry…
Move between the ruins and fade…
Then…
Silence is all that…
Remains…

A Step.. At A Time

In living color, our past reflects
The sum of our wisdom, and pain
Each experience, a different wrinkle
Each loss, shown in the eyes
Of the beholder, who has chosen
To walk the path from the beginning, to the end
Some have been asleep, their journey
simply a dream
Yet, a lucky few, were awakened
To learn, the journey’s end was not the point
It was the journey, itself where the
Real Truth was..
Gained, and wisdom
Revealed.
