My Yesterday’s Redux

Half remembered book plots
Faded thoughts of people I
thought maybe I once knew
My past a blur, of things,
places, things that are long.
gone
How much was my life, really?
How much did “I”, actually live?
Was nothing really real?
It was like so many lines in a
diary, written by a stranger
From the present, I see what had
been the past, at least the past I
was told about , melt away as a
new one comes into view, a totally
alien past that has nothing to do
with my memories form.
I am left standing on a road I
don’t recognize, looking at present as
changing as malleable
Not knowing where I came from, nor
where I am..
Knowing I’m heading toward a future
that will not be written by my hand,
But..
Penned by an as yet unknown
Other.

A Symbolic Encounter

The Spring brings the beauty
Standing in the sunlight
I watched, from my window
As the dew touched it’s petals

Glistening in the morning light
Pale red, the others could not
Compare, as the wind gently
Opened, the soft petals

Others tried, to grow bigger
Or to smell sweeter
The pale red beauty won
Everytime

Summer came in soft rain
As warmth kissed the air
Full bloom, stood the pale
Beauty for all to behold

Yet, as fall closed in with a slight
Chill, i chose the day I would
Pick the pale red perfection
And make it my own

I had been waiting to the last minute
To allow the petals full bloom
Yet, I waited to long
For another coveted it’s beauty
Even as I watched, another
Plucked my pale beauty, leaving only
A empty spot
where it
had
been

And, loss I could never replace
in my
Soul..

Tedium, A Thursday

I tried to make it right
It rained, I struggled
to hold it at bay
Yet, the day began
With, lost daylight
Lost carkeys
And, A real sense of
Waste
Somehow, it dragged
Food, then no food
The App didn’t work
I changed my shirt
And set out to make
It right, then it rained
Again..
The Apt, has to wait
Another Day
I got a headache
Where the keys were
Is still a mystery,
Were the time went
A waste
I felt like I was being
Held back
The Sun went down
Another day
Gone

Lost In A Feeling

You can search, and believe you have found the diamond in the ruff..
Showing the world the wonder
you have found..
Then someone tells you the diamond you have coveted, is just a piece of glass..
And, the truth is in the end, if you chase fortune, you are left with nothing, but a worthless piece of glass.

Shadows Pass With The Morning Dew

Sometimes dreams we chase seem answered
in the blink of an eye
Tired of our lives we lead, we act impulsively
Grabbing on to today shouting “This is my dream fulfilled”, without considering the consequences
Impulsively, we act and truly, we believe we have
Our Eden…
Our Utopia…
We run hither and yon, discounting our lives
For a moment of fantasy
For a moment of bliss
For a moment of wonder
To take away the shadows of our past
To remove the pain, of the truth made plain and
The lessons learned there
We try to make our ideal come true
As we hope, yet again, we chase our dream
Only to awaken, and face the reckoning that
A dream is only a dream…
Never, a reality.

A Bit Of Heaven, In The Depths Of Hell

Understand, as people stand
in silence..it maybe a reset
Or they have no words
Watch as it changes
What is truely real?

A question posed by an
Unknown person on
Social Media with feeling
As he checked his email

What if… We truely understand
The truth can bring peace to
your soul, can we change it?
I have spent countless nights
wondering..

A man sits in his living room
Contemplating particle physics,
As he plays a game to relax, not
really relaxing..

What if… they decided to silence
us? Could we say a thing we did
mattered? If the cataclysm we kept
seeing, would any of it matter?

I did what I did for love, in the hope
someone..benefited from my efforts
Yet, as I ran to the kitchen for a soda,
It happened , all of it..
Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Tornadoes
Even Nuclear war.. happened before I could
Take a drink..

Then, a flash
I sat at my table wondering
what should I write about the
PS today…
I stretched, opened my soda
Took a long drink..

As I sat there thinking, I wondered
If my research and posts really have
a purpose, and help bring peace to
their souls? Or is it all just a waste of
Time?
Even if we could Identify the cause..of ME..
of PS
Could we ever act against such a power?

A Moment..A Memory

I remember her hands holding mine
In the midst of the storm, the rain
was cold, yet her voice kept me warm
The images flash like a kaleidoscope
Colors rather than images

My heart sang as we huddled under
the small umbrella, the memory lives
In my mind, as a laugh, echoed, I am there
The smells, the sensation of hope
I had never felt this before

Some have lived an entire life, and never
known this, this sensation, this experience
In youth, I had felt lust, I had never known
This, this woman in her youth touched me
and it was if my entire life before this was
meaningless..

Before, this day, before the rain, before her
smile, I held on to her hand on that day
So long ago, in my youth, I remember it still
I could live a thousand lifetimes, and die a
thousand deaths, and never experience
another perfect moment..

Such as this..

In the rain, running down the street laughing
Laughing, about our foolishness..revelling in
our youth.. alive in that moment, a flash of
a smile..
I remember that day
I remember that feeling
I remember her hands in mine
I remember..

Uttered Relevance

Shattered silence
A voice spoke
Saying such things
As have never been
heard

Fortelling the future
Remembering the
past
Lecturing the present

A light in the darkness
Shown brightly
Illuminating those
Who stood in darkness

And, for an instant
The darkness was held
at bay
Fear, was suspended as
A new thing developed
Long missing from the
World

The absolute truth was
uttered, a heresy of
the highest order
a crime without
equal

For in the world of the lie
Where darkness is control
A match strike of truth
Could ignite a wildfire of
Hope

Just when we had just begun
To believe, the darkness
Closed in and snuffed
It as quickly as it had come

It was gone, leaving us standing
In darkness, with only our
Memories to sustain us
During the dark times which
Will surely come

And though only a singular memory
To sustain us, to let hope live
As we stood in the darkness
We knew the light would come
Again

Faded

Shifting dust, echoing
What was
Yet is no more

Fading memories painted
In earth tones
Reminders, remnants
Quickly fading

Our reality, slowly shifting
Echoing what never was
Just an illusion
As the substance changes
Solid lines become shadows

Lost the sureness, that
what was will remain
I’m left grasping for a reality
That is elusive as a fading
dream

Just sand on a beach
Shifting, moving
A trillion glistening stars
Reflecting the heavens

Only to dim as dusk
approaches, disappearing
Into the darkness of full
Night.

Americana..

Lost to the faded covers
The books not read, just
dust
As the wonder of it all, just
chokes those who never read
The stories played out
Digital dreams that move
The wise, leaving the rest to
wonder why anyone cared
as the towns rot the people
left to find a life that
never existed
The lie of our father’s cursed
us, yet we failed to see it
Grasping for a freedom
we never had, but believed
we had rights that were a
Fabricated fiction that
chained the masses more effectively
than any chain ever could
A manufactured dream,
Old as the towns left to
Rot, a testimony to the
A Fallacy
Perpetuated
A Lie
Achieved
