An Enemy Unknown

I stand a man alone yet surrounded
Trying to understand, the mysteries
Of a millennia, that changed
The books unwritten
The history untold
A sign up ahead said “Repent”
I turned then looked again it said “Eat at Sid’s'”
How can a world be so solid
So Real, then suddenly
Gone
I stand a man alone against an enemy
Yet, not know his name
Man, Machine,
Something else
Tortured, knowing people will suffer
If I can’t find it.. prove it.. stop it
While others spend their time proving
there is even a problem
I search for a faceless foe
A devil in the blind
Who knows my name
Who sees me coming
Will I succeed? Will I fail?
The ending is yet to be written
Yet, known from the begining
As the story
Continues..

A Path I Thought I Knew

Looking past the trees
The sky was angry and
tears fell on those lost and
found as they moved toward
somewhere and nowhere
I stood with cold hands and
dirty socks wondering if
I should try to be civil or just
buy a soda and walk my own
path..the bus came as my head
got wet..and I found that just like life
The bus refused to give me a ride
Correct change only
I stepped off, and started to walk
the tears I held , began to obscure
the bleak path.. the sky’s pain flowed
freely, I walked on..

A Silent Plea

In the space of silence we hold our secret heart
The real desire that goes unanswered
No peace, even alone knowing we are
seen as nothing more than chattel, property
Used or not, a thing to be ignored unless needed
As the coldness grows inside, a bitter truth,
we are alone, in a room of people, alone even when a partner draws near
An illumination, reality is rarely what we like or think it is…
Hatred becomes the armor, that protects our sanity, cold and merciless
We pretend, that everything is fine even when we struggle with the inter demons
Are tortured with the true, we can’t leave
No running, no chance to repair what has been irretrievably destroyed.
Alone, until we find, alot of other souls walking the same path.
An though solace is found in sharing pain
The fact remains…
When we go home…we are still alone..
Still.. owned
Still silent in..our..tears…

Lost

I’m lost in my own mind
Where only I can go
No one truly knows me
Only the piece of me I
show
In peace and in pain
That only I know
I face the shadows of
forgotten days
And the phantoms that still
dwell there
A Lifetime of fears
I challenge each time
I close off the world
And travel backward
In time.

Death Has No Dominion

It’s happening again..
That old pain,
The fear I remember
So well
I thought it was over
When the funeral ended
But, it reappeared
Like a ghost
from the past haunting
Me..
Trying to pull me
Back..
To the darkness
A demon, tormenting
Me
Knowing my
Weakness
And playing to it
To break me..
I won’t break
Reminding me of
The moment
I was alone
Truly alone
I won’t back down
Mirroring my loss
Of self all those
Year’s ago..
But, I’m still here
I refuse to fear the
Shadows
I refuse to return to the
Past
I refuse to lose my
Sanity
I will not be driven
To my knees
By an illusion
I will not be beaten
By a memory
And so I will…
Stand.

In The Moment

I woke to the whispering rain
Shadows, moved the day’s darkness
Cold pain, stark continence
Moved forward the dreamscape

A thousand motions, responses few
A wonder, that knew many
Yet, few truly knew
Resembled the night, he was cold
Sometimes unforgiving

The dream was self evident
It’s theme, though familiar
Was a mystery to the day

Murmurs could be felt in
A rhythmic crescendo
It’s secret, never shared

When will it be time
Time to just walk toward
A dark sand beach
Or to be

Through all the shame
All the pain
Fear made a lessor
Man buckle, cringe in failure

While the mountains stood tall
To be a stone, or a tree standing
Is the model, be there, in the now
No ideas of what wasn’t
To be that moment
Free to act, to be silent

The wonder is to understand
Like the mountain..like the stone
And the tree
Manifest the moment
Yet, know that you
Are
More..and
Be ..
Free..

The Contention

Cold light, the stars
The moon’s a pale rider
Crossing the blackness
Silence as if waiting
Gray once life was shining
A green lost to time
A time that was, yet is soon
Again
I trek the barren empty
Pace the lost memories
Like so many leaves scattered
Though, a footfall marks an
Essence of futility
The souls pass me, for an instant, I
almost saw it the
Spectres evident
Movement, the dance
of renewal
Continued I recalled
The pages moving the
Story
For an instant released
Then, like a window it
closed
I was left standing
Alone
Until I was one
Passing beyond this place
A Shadow , A Leaf A
Page

Spilt Dreams..

ravage the ever suffering
soul, the lost determination
damnable the wandering
heart, it grieves a lost dream
love that was spilt on the ground, leaves scattered to
the wind,
we pass the weathered hill, remnate of the angered sky
Its heat poured on the ground
With determination, to sunder the haughty heights
A respite not found, no not one
Lightning and Thunder revealed
A bleak existence, long after the deed was done, the sting still welts, the rash actions reminded, as the rain fell to the
darkened world
The hill, relented it’s arrogance
The grass was moved by the wind
The trees, stood witness, to the event
The rocks, said nothing at
All

Shattered

The broken pieces scattered
Her soul ripped
Torn asunder
Her loss written on her heart
As the coffin lowered
A part her went with it
As if sensing her pain
The sky broke open
It’s tears reflected in her
Eyes…

A Solitary Man

I am a man
Alone in my pain
Never allow to show
weakness
I didn’t grow up that
way

I am a man
My feelings remain on
the inside
Because I was taught
not to cry or show
them

I am a man among men
who were raised just
like me, alone we stand
together

I am a man
Who will fight for
family, country,freedom
but love between brothers
is seen as weakness

I am a man
Who will give to my
wife, hold my children
work until I fall from
exhaustion
yet,she will never
truly understand me

I am a man
Who will walk a
lonily path
Only another man
Understands

We are men
brothers who silently
face our fate
our pain
our struggle
together, yet
alone

I am a man
